Determination of effective parameters of ozone-air impact on pea seeds before sowing

Abstract

Change in exchange rates in 2016 led to increase in the export price for peas, which exceeded 22 thousand rubles per ton. This increase in prices caused considerable interest among agricultural producers, which resulted in an increase in cultivated areas of peas in 2017, as compared to 2016, by 24%. But the glut on the market with export peas and stabilization of exchange rates led to a drop in prices to the level of 8–9 thousand rubles per ton. This level of prices sharply reduces the profitability of pea production. To increase profitability, it is necessary to increase the productivity of pea cultivation with minimal capital investment. One way to solve this problem is to use ozone as a stimulator of growth processes. We carried out experimental studies which made it possible to establish effective parameters for presowing ozoneair treatment of pea seeds (the concentration of the ozone-air mixture is 15 mg/m3, treatment time is 6–8 minutes, time of forced rest before sowing is 13 days), which allow to increase the sowing quality of the seeds, which, in turn, will lead to an increase in yield of at least 20%.
